Footnote

Kaneda Masanao, born in 1953, is the eldest son of the seventh-generation Kaneda Sanzaemon. After studying sculpture at Tokyo University of Education and completing graduate studies at University of Tsukuba, he began his pottery journey under his father’s tutelage in 1979. Kaneda has received numerous accolades, including the Minister of International Trade and Industry Award at the West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition.
