Kikko Jusoken (吉向十三軒)

Kikko Jusoken (吉向十三軒) represents one of the two principal hereditary lines of Kikko-yaki, descending from the first Yoshimitsu Jusanken Shogetsu (吉向十三軒松月), who founded the Osaka kiln in 1804 after training in Kyoto. The Jusanken branch was carried forward by adopted and biological heirs who preserved the founder’s approach to Raku-influenced tea ceramics, distinctive glazes and expressive decorative styles. In 1891 the line formally separated from the Shogetsu branch, establishing its own kiln identity under the sixth head. Subsequent generations maintained close ties to the tea schools and produced refined ware that continued the aesthetic and technical values inherited from the founding master.
