Koichi Suzuki (鈴木黄弌)
Koichi Suzuki (b.1942) is the eldest son of the esteemed potter Koya Suzuki, pursued an apprenticeship under the celebrated potter Yagihiko Kusube to develop his expertise in ceramics. After returning to Okayama, he took over his father's work, dedicating himself to Bizen pottery. Throughout his career, Suzuki received numerous accolades, including awards from prestigious exhibitions like the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Japan Kogei Association’s Chugoku Branch. His mastery of yohen (kiln transformations) and Sangkiri glazing has cemented his reputation as one of the leading Bizen artists of his generation.
