Shinbei Sakakura XV (十五代 坂倉新兵衛)
Shinbei Sakakura XV (b. 1949) is the 15th-generation successor of the prestigious Sakakura family, renowned for their Hagi ware craftsmanship. A graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, he has received numerous accolades, including the Yamaguchi Prefecture Arts and Culture Promotion Encouragement Award. In 2013, he was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Property Holder for his mastery of Hagi ware. As a member of the Japanese Kōgei Association, he continues his family’s rich pottery legacy.
