A Kakiemon Porcelain Sake Set

Showa Era (1926-1989)

About the work

This elegant sake set by Sakaida Kakiemon XIII is a fine example of the renowned
Kakiemon-yaki porcelain tradition. The set includes two sake bottles (tokkuri) and four
sake cups (ochoko), adorned with delicate hand-painted floral motifs in the signature
Kakiemon overglaze enamel style. The vibrant red, blue, and green chrysanthemum
designs contrast beautifully against the milky-white porcelain, embodying the refined
aesthetic of Arita ware. The set is accompanied by a black lacquered sake warmer,
adding a touch of traditional elegance.
The original wooden tomobako (signed storage box) ensures authenticity, making this
a highly collectible piece of Japanese antique ceramics. This set is ideal for tea
ceremony enthusiasts, antique collectors, or those who appreciate the timeless
beauty of fine Japanese porcelain.
