A Nezumi Shino Guinomi (鼠志野ぐい呑)

Showa Era (1926-1989), Heisei Era (1989-2019) or Reiwa Era (2019-present)

About the work

A refined Nezumi Shino guinomi by Tamaoki Yasuo, exhibiting the quiet restraint and subtle depth characteristic of this glaze tradition. The cup features a gently faceted, hand-formed profile, its surface veiled in soft grey tones that shift between translucence and opacity. Iron lines and natural glaze movements appear faintly beneath the feldspathic coating, while the rim shows a warmer reddish hue that adds a measured accent. The interior is smoothly glazed, offering a calm visual continuity with the exterior, and the foot reveals exposed clay and natural kiln markings typical of Shino firing.

Accompanied by its original signed tomobako (wooden storage box) and protective cloth, this guinomi presents both functional appeal and collectible value.
