A Shino Ware Yunomi (志野湯呑)
Showa Era (1926-1989), Heisei Era (1989-2019) or Reiwa Era (2019-present)
About the work
A refined Shino yunomi by Kato Toyohisa, featuring a softly faceted form and a thick, creamy-white glaze. The surface shows natural pinholing and subtle texture, characteristic of Shino firing, with warm reddish fire marks emerging through the glaze.
The foot reveals rich kiln effects, with concentric rings of iron coloration and a natural scorch pattern that enhances the wabi aesthetic. The slightly uneven rim and hand-formed body give the piece a quiet, organic presence.
Complete with original signed wooden box and cloth. In excellent condition.
