About the work

An elegant Karakane (bronze) flower vase crafted by Yoshihisa Hasegawa, a renowned figure in traditional Japanese metalworking. The vase features a classic gourd-like silhouette with a stunningly textured bronze surface, enriched with warm tones of burnt orange and subtle red. The natural patina and mottled finish evoke the essence of time and artistry, embodying Hasegawa’s refined approach to combining traditional metal techniques with a contemporary aesthetic. This piece would make an outstanding focal point for Ikebana arrangements or as a standalone decorative artwork, exemplifying Hasegawa's unique mastery of bronze.
