Kozaemon Kiln (小左衛門窯)

Kozaemon Kiln (小左衛門窯) is a long-established Seto pottery lineage based in Nishigama-cho, Seto. The current head succeeded to the thirteenth generation, inheriting the classical techniques that define Seto ware while also pursuing contemporary ceramic expression. Under this leadership the kiln has maintained a balance between preserving traditional craftsmanship and exploring new artistic forms. Works from the Kozaemon Kiln have been selected as offerings to the Imperial Household and permanently preserved at institutions including Nagoya Castle, reflecting the kiln’s standing within both Japanese ceramic history and modern cultural heritage.
