Showa Era (1926-1989), Heisei Era (1989-2019) or Reiwa Era (2019-present)

About the work

A refined Shino Hanaire (Flower Vase) by the esteemed Kozo Kato, an acclaimed Japanese ceramic artist known for his mastery of Mino ware and the Shino glazing technique. This piece embodies his signature approach—expressing the warmth of traditional Japanese aesthetics while maintaining a modern sensibility.

The vase features a subtly textured surface with a soft, creamy Shino glaze, accented by natural variations in color and form, characteristic of wood-fired ceramics. Its elegant shape and nuanced glaze patterns make it an excellent piece for display or tea ceremony use.
