Description
DongDing Tea （凍頂烏龍） is a type of Oolong tea which is quite famous in Taiwan. It’s name literally means frozen peak due to steep slope of the mountain it is grown on, though you will not find any ice there. The conditions there is relatively windy and as a result the soil is lower in nutrients compared to other locations, the DongDing laves therefore adapted by retaining as much nutrient as possible in the leaves and thus produce a rich flavour.
It's important to note that DongDing tea does not need to originate from the original location. Other teas produced from Taiwan can also have this name as they use the same process to pick, wither and process the tea.
