A Shino Yunomi (志野湯呑)

Showa Era (1926-1989), Heisei Era (1989-2019) or Reiwa Era (2019-present)

About the work

A refined Shino ware yunomi by Kozo Kato, Living National Treasure and master of Mino ceramics. The vessel exemplifies his celebrated control of Shino glaze, combining soft subtlety with bold natural expression. The cup is coated in a feldspathic glaze of delicate pink tones, its surface enriched with fine crackling and patches of gray and red kiln effects. Its rounded form and warm, tactile surface embody the quiet elegance and intimacy of Shino tea wares.

The yunomi is accompanied by its original signed tomobako (wooden storage box), protective cloth, and paper insert, attesting to authenticity.
