Heisei Era (1989–2019) or Reiwa Era (2019–)

About the work

A finely crafted Kyusu teapot by Suigetsu Shimizu, renowned for his mastery of Banko ware and the traditional purple clay (shidei) kyusu. This elegant side-handled teapot is carefully formed from smooth, unglazed clay, featuring a built-in clay mesh strainer and a refined, ergonomic silhouette. The warm reddish-purple tone and polished surface enhance both its aesthetic and functional appeal.

The teapot bears the artist’s seal on the base and is accompanied by its original tomobako (signed wooden box), cloth, and leaflet.
