About the work
A beautiful Aka Shino yunomi (teacup) by Kato Toyohisa, a distinguished contemporary Mino-ware ceramic artist. Known for his mastery of Shino glazes, Kato's yunomi exemplifies the traditional Aka Shino style with its striking white glaze contrasting dramatically against vibrant iron-red tones. The bold and tactile surface captures the essence of wabi-sabi aesthetics, celebrating imperfections and natural forms, and ensuring each piece is truly unique.
