A Set of Four Celadon-Glazed Vessels (青白磁 ぐい呑・向付 四点)

Showa Era (1926-1989), Heisei Era (1989-2019) or Reiwa Era (2019-present)

About the work

An elegant four-piece set of celadon-glazed porcelain by Rekko Kubota, showcasing refined craftsmanship in the celadon. This ensemble includes sake cups and mukozuke, each rendered in soft, flowing forms and coated with a serene bluish-white glaze inspired by Song dynasty ceramics.
The mukozuke piece in particular features sculptural, petal-like shapes that highlight the artist’s sensitivity to organic design, while the sake cups offer a minimalist balance. Their smooth, translucent glaze pools gently in the recesses, enhancing the visual depth and clarity of the porcelain.
Perfect for the refined table, this set merges functionality with elegant, contemporary Japanese aesthetics.
